Our 50th year anniversary show was a great success thanks to our staff, particularly our show manager, Carolyn VandenBerg, onsite show secretary, Arlene Gaitan (me!), Scorers, Jennifer Cotten & Llorye Flores, volunteer coordinator, Patricia Augustine, and ring set-up/tear down, Jim Humphreys.  Also thanks to Tracy Augustine for running point on the "L" program.

A highlight of the weekend was our fabulous Silent Auction organized by Lisa Mattson, with the help of Claire Oxley, Kelly Martinez, Karen Silvers and Debra Peterson.

Check out the photos from the show by photographer Rhen Vega here.  Contact Rhen to get access to your gallery if it does not appear online  at 512-948-1692.

ADA past president, past USDF Region 9 Director, Region 9 Horseperson of the Year, USEF "r" Dressage judge, rider, breeder, rancher, quilter and avid fisherwoman, Kat Kyle passed away on December 9th.  If you knew Kat you know what a wonderful person she was and the time she dedicated to dressage in our Region.  I remember spending afternoons at her Bandera ranch putting together and editing the Region 9 omnibus and other projects.  Kat and her late husband, Dick, hosted many ADA events at her ranch as well.   Many of us (myself included) rode down center line towards Kat, and though she did not give points away in her  judging, she was always fair with great feedback.

Kat is survived by current husband, Scott Smith.  More details to follow with her obituary and memorial services which will be held in the spring.  Follow the funeral home website for updates:
